Between -/-/- and -/-/-, I worked a totally of four months. I was struggling to find a job and took what temp assignments I could get. I made every effort to continue to pay my discover credit card. However, when my unemployment extension ended, I was forced to drastically lower my monthly payments to $5.00 or $10.00 a month. Discover cashed those checks. I found work, though I am still struggling, because I am the only one in my household working ( my mom 's unemployment ran out ), I continue to pay Discover. Recently, they threaten me with a summons from a lawyer in -, because Discover wants more money than I can afford to pay. This lawyer recently served me with a summons, threaten to garnish my wages and charge me legal fees. I am paying Discover, my checks are being cashed, yet they still retained an Attorney to sue me? This is unfair and is now on my credit report. I have made every effort to pay them, but I am poor and working and Discover demands something that I do not have. Please advise if you can help me or how I can help myself. They are still cashing my checks with this summons that was served for the amount of $2500.00 that owe to Discover.
