Conventional fixed mortgage Loan modification,collection,foreclosure California

I currently am behind in my mortgage payments and have submitted an application to be considered for a loan modification. I have provided all documents requested to be considered for assistance but I have a foreclosure sale scheduled on -/-/15. My mortgage company is saying they dont have enough time to complete the review and that my home will go to sale. I need help getting this sale date postponed.
