I was married in - and became a auth user on my mother inlaws discover card. she passed away in - - I called discover and told them what had happened and they told me that I would have to pay any balance that I had after her PASSING and that I was not responsible for any thing before that time because I was just and auth user, so I paid what I had to and contacted them to let them know that my part was paid. they started sending me statements and said that I had agreed to take the acct over and I told them NO I did not. So they were sending me treating notices so I took it to my lawyer and he contacted them anf told them to send him info were I signed to agree to take over the acct. They were unable to do that and he told them that the acct was not mine and to remove it from my credit report they did not. they said they sent all info to there lawyer and that the investigation was complete and that I owed it but they never sent me nor my lawyer anything.. The card was opened in - and I was not living at this address nor was I married to my mother inlaws son nor even knew him. recently I got my - credit report and it shows that I used the card in -, -, and I did n't even know my previous husband at the time. to me this is fraud.
