I fell behind in payments because our - failed, my husband and I were both - employed and as economy got bad, - business was no longer bringing income. we applied for loan modification a few years ago as we were working and able to start making payments again. I hired an attorney to help with the loan modification but it failed. I was told that my house is not worth the amount of the loan so I ca n't get modified. why was n't I offered a reduction or deferment so I can keep my home. I have enough income to make the mortgage payment.,
