Credit monitoring or identity protection account terms and changes
Experian Credit reporting department,
Credit monitoring or identity protection Account terms and changes New Jersey
I went online to Experian.com -/-/- to check my credit score and paid for the - time fee. Little did I know that the company automatically signed me up to a 7-day trial of then started to charge me $21.00 per month for 'credit monitoring services ' which I neither do n't need nor made fully aware of. I noticed the charges this month and called the company seeking full refund for both -/-/- and -/-/-. The customer service told me I can only get one month refund. However she did cancel the subscription and hopefully I will not get charged going forward. I am very disappointed by the way Experian conducts its business - it tricks consumers into signing up to expensive monthly services by teasing them with some low cost services without making full disclosure. Such services should be explicitly opt-in only and not opt-out type of services like the way Experian does it. It is hard to believe that after the passing of post-crisis consumer protection regulations such business practices still exist.
