Discover Credit card department,
I contacted Discover to pay off the higher balance of my card. The guy told me $570.00 would pay off the higher rate but I had to pay the same day when my regular payment would be deducted from my bank. I mistakenly used my old checking account ( i forgot to delete it from my discover profile ). i called back & explained. the lady told me she would waive the fee but not until - - because she could n't see the NSF fee ( not real time ). I paid the $570.00 because the payoff would have been $560.00 but I wanted to make sure interest would be covered because the rep could n't tell me the exact amount to payoff the higher rate. statement, dated - -, came & showed I owed $160.00 in interest. I spoke to a rep today and he said the remaining balance on the higher rate was $44.00. I paid $58.00 just to make sure. The rep was not very sure of himself or the method ... he could only tell me that the payment posts to the lower rate first then the higher rate. He said that the payment on -/-/15 went to the minimum due for - - and the remaining went to the higher rate but still could n't me a breakdown. My complaint is that Discover 's statements do not reflect the breakdown of the payments. The statements are very confusing and I 'm willing to submit a copy of my statement to prove it.
