I had a checking account at Associated Bank. I had arranged for loan payments to be made by ACH from my account. For a number of reasons, I closed my account at Associated and in the process I requested that the loan payments be cancelled since they are being made through my new account. For the last SI- months I have been getting notices from the bank that has my car loan that my payments are not being processed because my account has been closed. Although I am making payments as agreed through my new account, the notices have become a nuisance to me and to the bank that has my car loan. I have asked on numerous occasions to stop the payments from my account at Associated Bank and I have been assured on - separate occasions by - separate people that the automated payments have stopped. I have received another notice from my bank that has my car loan that yet another payment from the closed account has been attempted. This is extremely frustrating to me, and I have absolutely no confidence that Associated Bank will not report negative information about my account because of the returned payments. I just want them to stop trying to process the payments against this closed account.
