Fell behind on - mortgage with Associated Bank. Was contacted to set up payments with the assurance that it would stop legal attempts for judgment against me. I was also told the debt had been charged off and I would only be paying toward the principle. - months later never missed a payment I saw a judgment against me and attempts for wage garnishment. I called them and they said that was a mistake and should n't have happened. They stopped garnishment attempts and apologized but I still now had a judgment against me. I continued to get a statement showing the principle amount with no interest and my monthly payment. Almost - years of consistently paying every month I called to get the payoff amount as I 'm ready to sell my home and take the equity out to pay the lone off. The principle load amount was $ - almost - years of monthly payments over $4000.00 my pay off amount was over $33000.00. They said the statements do n't show the interest charges but the judgment against me allowed them to collect interest. Had I seen any interest charges on my statements I would have questioned that over - years ago. I feel like they took advantage of someone faithfully trying to pay back debt and always intended to file a judgment and collect interest.
