I noticed on Sunday morning - -, 2015 that $750.00 was missing out of my checking account and that there were - transactions on - - and - - that I did not make. I opened my correspondence from TCF Bank that arrived on Saturday - -, 2015 and found a new check attached to a letter stating that a merchant where I used my check card had a security breach and that I should activate the new card immediately. I did so. I was told by TCF Bank that I should ask to have the fraudulent charges from the merchants reversed and to get police reports in - -, -, and -. I also had the video put on hold so that the investigators can have an opportunity to secure the video for prosecution. I have spent numerous hours on the phone with TCF Customer Service, TCF Fraud, and TCF Visa Payment Dept. I want to know ( and deserve to know ) who had the security breach. I should be told this information so that I can make an informed decision based on all the facts of whether I want to continue to do business with this merchant.


the letter, TCF would have up to - business days to review the information and decide IF they were going to give me my money back. It was scheduled for the week of - -. - - - aired my story on Sunday - -, 2015 and right before it aired a TCF representative - - made promises to me that he has failed to keep. He did return my money to me but not until Monday - -, 2015. - - will not tell me who had the security breach or return my phone calls or voicemail messages or follow through on any of the promises he made to me. The thieves made new check cards with my information on them and different names. They were also able to change the telephone number on my account without my permission so that so that they could authorize their own purchases. TCF told me they can not tell when they changed the phone number. I never received any notification of this change ( no email, txt, or snail letter to my house ). TCF said they would open an investigation that would take 3 days - that was on - - and I still have not heard anything back from them.
