The loan modification process took entirely too long. The process should have been resolved after 3-4 months upon completion of trial payments ''. In fact, through no fault of mine, the process took 8 months, from -/-/- through -/-/-. During this time, late charges continued to accrue and late payments continued to be reported to the credit agencies. The extended length of time caused further debt and a reduction in my credit score. At no time did I request for the process to be stopped, which is what happened half way through the processing of the modification at the discretion of the mortgage servicer.
