Closing/Cancelling account Delaware
I was a discover card holder as of 2013. During my entire card membershipwith the company, I was never late with my monthly payments, always stayedunder my credit line, and never charged my credit card for any purposesother than making a legitimate purchase. This was my first credit card that established my credit history as of 2013. About - weeks ago, without any warning and notice in advance, the companyclosed my account and thereby wiped out my 2 years of credit historyassociated with Discover card. I contacted the company and demanded for ananswer. Other than the excuse that we are no longer able to meet yourservicing needs, '' the company never gave me a forthcoming response. Upon the discussion I had with other cardholders and information I learnedfrom the internet, I have a reasonable belief that the closing was - a large number of cardholders with a particular racial and ethnicbackground ( more specifically, - - without a just ground. Ibelieve that CFPB is or will be getting more similar complaints in the nearfuture. I respectfully urge the CFPB to take this matter seriously and to look intothis case. We consumers are powerless to protect ourselves fromdiscriminatory actions like this. But if the closing was indeed motivatedby racial bias, the company 's action has to be put in an end. Thank you.
