Discover Credit card department,
First, I am having a temporary financial setback and I have tried to work with Discover Cards to mitigate the situation but it only seems to be getting worse. No matter what you say to them, they ignore you and try to set up a payment. As many times as I say, I ca n't commit to a pre-arranged payment, they do not listen and repeat the same question of setting up a payment. These people must be on some type of commission because they are relentless and they do not listen or respect the consumer. I do not like to make arrangements that I am not sure that I can fulfill. I feel pressure and I am usually depressed when I get off the phone with them after phone calls that have lasted over an hour. Second, they are leaving messages on my answering machine say there is some type of savings opportunity I should be aware of. Everybody within earshot knows that it is a call that I am behind in my bill and that is something that I do not want to share with the rest of the world. Last, on the last phone call, when I spoke to their representative on - -, I was told I was past due 60 days, which confused me. I did not know I was so behind in the account. The representative said that I started being delinquent one day after the last payment on - -, and I had made a partial payment after that. I found this confusing. Is this true or a marketing technique to put fear into the cardholder 's mind that they are worse off than they think? Is that true and legal? Thank you. I need clarification of the delinquency issue/
