Amex consumers have reported over 172 official complaints related to Late fee. Out of the 172 consumer complaints against Amex, 23% were disputed by the consumer (i.e. the consumer was not happy with how Amex responded to their complaint) and 100% were processed in a timely manner. 42% of consumer complaints against Amex resulted in the consumer receiving monetary compensation (e.g. money, cash reimbursement, etc.) and 3% resulted in non-monetary compensation.

April 15, 2016 - I 've been an American Express customer for over ten years and have never had a late payment. I always keep everything on autopay. In 2013, I switched from a Blue Cash card to a Blue Sky Preferred card at the urging of a telephone representative. December 2, 2015 - I started using a new card with American Express called the Every Day card. I have been using their gold card since 2001 and paid on time. I always pay my bills at the first of the month and assumed that would be the due date for this card. April 13, 2015 - I have American Express ( Amex ) as a corporate card for work to cover travel and travel related expenses plus printing expenses. We also use American Express Travel Services. Our Amex expenses populate to a dashboard that we employees use. All charges populate except cash advances that I never use anyway.
