Amex Credit card department,
I have an American Express " everyday '' card. I opened this up -/-/2016. I make my monthly payments well before the due date ( about two weeks before ) and I also pay more than the minimum amount due. -/-/2016, American Express errantly charged me an INVALID late fee ( my payment was submitted well before the due date, and more than the minimum amount due ) and American Express had simply made a mistake. I called in and notified the representative at American express of the mistake on their end and she said she would remove the errant late charge immediately and that it would reflect immediately on my statement. This did not happen. I called in again about a week later and went through all of the hoops, dedicating another hour or so of my time communicating once again that the invalid late charge and consequent fees and APR rate changes were on the account still and I was transferred three different times
Since then, I have called in multiple times per month, with the same issue and have not been helped or I have been transferred off to another representative who said the issue is handled when it has not been. The last, and most disrespectful call of all, occurred yesterday -, -, 2016. I checked my account once again with American Express, and the invalid late charges and fees have accrued and substantially affected my account and card payments with American Express. I called in and spoke to a representative explaining the same issues that have been going on and asked to speak to her supervisor. The representative stayed on the line and pretended as though she was the supervisor- upon noticing this, I asked her name and the name of the " supposed '' supervisor, she refused to give me either and abruptly, without warning, transferred my call to a line which ultimately ended the call on me after waiting on hold for 5 minutes. I called in yet again and was transferred to - different representatives in the course of 2 hours on the phone with American Express and was told by the last representative that I had to pay all of the INVALID and errant late fees ( even though it was a mistake on their end and even though I have never made a late payment ) on my account and that it hopefully would not affect my credit score and standing. Conclusively, I have always paid my credit card monthly payment early and more than is required and because of a mistaken " late fee '' charge errantly administered by American Express and then, never resolved on their end, they are stating that : I must pay for the fees that I did not incur my credit may be affected my interest rate my be affected. Please help me come to a resolve on this issue.
