Select Portfolio Servicing, Inc. had attached a debt to my credit report which did not belong to me. The debt actually belonged to my father who has the same first and last name as me. I contacted SPS in - to correct the issue and made them aware that they had illegally obtained my Social Security number and attached it to my fathers debt.
