A week later, i sent a certified letter, which was returned & left s voicemail that under the Fair Debt collection practices act, to cease communication with anyone in my family. Cooper Hoffman Klein Associates Debt collection taking/threatening an illegal action threatened to sue on too old debt August 11, 2015 - I received a phone call at my job about a think cash loan from 2011. The person told me that the debt had been charged off. He said he had a file related to my social security number and verified my date of birth. He proceeded to tell me that I am going to be sued for defrauding a bank and charged with writing a bad check. After asking me a series of questions, he then said did I want to pay the $ - on my own or take it to court. I told him I could n't discuss it with him right now because I am at work.
