Payday loan Taking/threatening an illegal action Threatened to sue on too old debt Connecticut
I received a phone call at my job about a think cash loan from 2011. The person told me that the debt had been charged off. He said he had a file related to my social security number and verified my date of birth. He proceeded to tell me that I am going to be sued for defrauding a bank and charged with writing a bad check. After asking me a series of questions, he then said did I want to pay the $ - on my own or take it to court. I told him I could n't discuss it with him right now because I am at work. He asked for a number I could be reached at, I did n't give him one. I took his number - -. He told me he worked for Cooper, Hoffman, Klein and Associates. - - - - - - - VA -. I did a - search and saw that the phone number given was associated with a scam. I also did a - search on the address and that law firm does n't come up for that address.
