Auto loan for a -, Account Number - that was a total loss on -/-/-. There is a GAP insurance problem I have been unable to resolve with Ally Financial. The car was purchased on -/-/-. I am the buyer on the 72 month auto loan and my son - is the co-buyer. Ally claims that GAP insurance does not cover losses if the loan is extended. I never extended the loan, but Ally extended it 5 times, despite me sending them written notification not to extend the loan. Ally claims that the co-buyer can extend the loan without the buyers permission. I dispute that because my written contract does not state that. Ally charged off the loan and sent my account to a collection agency. There is nothing in New York State contract law that supports Ally 's position.
