I had come to a settlement with US bank and after not receiving anything in the mail/email after that, I get a collections letter from collctns agency I had money problems and my account was past due. I contacted them because I was going to do contact a credit consulting company or file bankruptcy but decided to contact them. We agreed to a settlement and thought that everything was closed because I did not receive any kid on mail or email notifying me of the situation. Then, at the beginning of this year a get a letter from an agency stating that my account was in collections for the amount of the remaining balance and when I ask for proof indicating this, I get statements for - and according to portfolio recovery, the account was charged off in - 2013 and then collections. This stories from both sides do not add up because I can not get a letter from US bank who " can not '' email because of securities issues. I think it had to do with US bank being bought out.
