Checking account Account opening, closing, or management North Carolina
I believe that Executives and Branch representatives at Branch Bank and Trust - - - misled me into opening business accounts with account service fee structure.that they then immediately changed in order to charge more fees. Account executives knew the changes were occurring at the end of 2016 but did not properly notify account holders. Statement " notices '' were inadequate considering most customers do not access statements in online banking web sites and instead look at screen transactions. Proper disclosures were NOT made for online customers and I believe the bank is guilty of violation of UDAP, since they misled me personally into a price structure that they knew would change to the very one that I had rejected with another bank. When I called my " personal banker '' to question the fees in - she said that the fees were overdraft fees ( which was incorrect ). Since she misrepresented the fee this caused another month 's worth of Service fees to be charged to all of my accounts. She did not disclose the new fee structure when I complained and said that she could not waive fees ; that the " corporation office '' was free
T in particular, create artificially low " come on '' fee structures to get customers to change banks, then change the terms without proper notice. Since it takes so long ( 4-6 months ) to change business bank accounts banks should be required to give PROPER legal notice AND sufficient time period for customers to change banks before they levy fees. They should also be required to disclose new " substantial '' fee changes and increases in multiple forms ( customer email and online banking notices and/or emails ). I believe this is a well designed plan to rip off consumers and small business owners and implore you to open a class action complaint and fines against this flagrant violator.
