I had a CitiBank platinum select card that had a yearly membership fee of $95.00 -. The terms of CitiBank states that the account can not be converted or closed until the full year has elapsed and after being charged the following year 's membership fee, you are then able to issue a conversion. After I have issued the conversion ; which was done two days after the fee processed, I was promised to have the full membership fee refunded after 60 days and after the conversion is fulfilled. After a period of 45 days, the account was then processed for a pro-rated refund. I called CitiBank and had spoken to - and - ( unique ID : - ) of the Maryland office and they both provided me with false information stating that I would only receive a refund if I REQUESTED the conversion within - / - ( Differing answers between representatives ), which I did within two days. CitiBank has a conversion period of 45 days for any credit card and will promptly at this point, steal, a portion of the refund. With hundreds of thousands of credit card users, I believe that this is against the law, and that this bank is laundering funds. In essence, the process was as follows : Membership fee processed -, Processed conversion - and was informed of full refund within 60 days and that the conversion may take 2 weeks with a letter stating so, I have not received a letter nor the card I requested by - I noticed a refund on my account processed -. That is a span of 53 days that I was forced to wait and CitiBank processed a partial refund because I was " outside of the - ( depending on the representative you speak to I assume ) period ''.
