Citibank Credit card department,
I have a VISA account with Citi as a result of them being a Costco service provider. I had several issues with their billing and decided I would pay off the account and ultimately close it. I scheduled an electronic payment for -/-/2017 based on my statement that paid the stated balance in full. I received the statement for -/-/- and there was an interest charge of $4.00 as of -/-/2017. I called and the service rep told me that this was an interest charge on the prior month 's balance. In other words, they are billing me interest even though there is no outstanding balance at the time the interest is being charged.
