Citibank Credit card department,
Closing/Cancelling account New Jersey
I received a credit card in the mail, Citi Master Card that I do not recall applying for. If I did apply for this card, I still do n't want it. I called - and asked to have the card cancelled. I was told I would be on hold for 2 minutes so the man could do this. After 20 minutes of being on hold I hung up and called again. This time a woman told me I needed to identify the password I created that started with the letter " B ''. I never created a password for this credit card, and have never created a password that starts with " B ''. I assume that preventing people from cancelling credit cards is against some law or regulation and would like to file a complaint against this company for preventing me from cancelling this credit card. Thank you.
