In response to a bank bonus promotion at Citibank, I signed up for a personal checking account on - -, -. The promotion promised $400.00 as a bonus if I opened an account and held a balance of $15000.00 for 90 days after the first statement period closed. I waited for the bonus after depositing my $15000.00 and keeping it in the account for the designated period. On - -, -, Citibank closed my account and sent a check for the balance without me requesting that they do so. I called on - -, - and learned that they believed they had not received my signature page for the account. When I told them the date when I submitted the page, they searched their records and found it. They admitted their error and let me re-open the account with the full $15000.00 balance ( which happened on - - ). In another call on - -, -, the bank 's New Account Opening office confirmed again that I would still be eligible for the bonus. I continued to wait for the bonus. On - -, I called again about the bonus. The representative said that the bonus should post around - -. It did not. On - -, -, I called the New Account Office once again. They informed me that they would open an investigation internally, number -. Now, it is - -, -. I still have not received the bonus, despite maintaining a $15000.00 balance since - of -. I have read in online forums that many other customers have had similar problems with Citibank 's bonus promotion.
