I lost my - position in which I notified Regional Acceptance and asked for a loan modification ( due to my current income and past on-time payment history ). At that time I was told that they do not do refinancing. In turn, I attempted to refinance the loan with my credit union and was told that the vehicle has too much negative equity and that they would n't help me. I also attempted to trade the car in at several dealership and was told the say thing. Over the years, after making payments to the loan, I asked Regional Acceptance to allocate the payments in a manner that would result in a credit towards the principal balance versus just the principal. After making payments for over 3 years, the account balance never dropped past $20000.00. In - -, the vehicle was stolen from my residence. It was later found was deemed totaled by -.
