1-My mother - -/-/-. She had an IRA at BB & T. I inherited 1/3 of this IRA. BB & T told me my options were to establish an inherited IRA at BB & T or cash out the account. I would have preferred an immediate transfer of the money to - without creating the account at BB & T but they did not give me that option. As an aside, that was exactly the process that was used by another bank at which my mother had an IRA and it was a very smooth process. Feeling like I had no choice, I let BB & T establish the IRA-BDA. After the account was established, I moved the IRA-BDA to -. BB & T charged me a $50.00 fee to move my money. I told them I was going to move the money and this fee was never disclosed. The banker states that I never told her this. This is one of multiple " untruths '' that she has stated during this process. BB & T also took out the RMD for - without my permission. I lost $50.00 in this transaction and the ability to earn interest on the RMD within the IRA for the next 10 months of -.
