I am a credit card holder of the retail department store Macy 's. For more than four years I have held the " Macy 's Star Rewards '' credit card. I have an excellent payment record and credit limit of $10000.00 with this particular card. The Macy 's card program seems to be managed by Department Stores National Bank. While shopping on Sunday, -/-/2016 at the Macy 's - Mall location in Pennsylvania I was offered a - percent discount if I " upgraded '' my current Macy 's account to a Macy 's American Express account. I accepted the offer as it was explained to me and completed my purchases. I received the new American Express Macy 's card in the mail and even discarded my old card under the impression that the American Express Macy 's card is my new card. I made additional purchases with this American Express card, again believing this was my one and


I asked the customer service representative, assuming they are also a fiscally responsible individual, why would I ever open a second Macy 's credit account with a 25 percent interest rate and no balance or transfer offers, when I currently have an account with Macy 's with more than a sufficient amount of available credit?! I believe I was absolutely taken advantage of by what I experienced by the sales representative in-store having access to my financial information and very easily setting up a - account with misrepresentation and miscommunication of a promotion. This practice was fraudulent, unethical, and takes advantage of creditworthy and financially responsible individuals.
