Failure to help with issues regarding a foreign currency wire transfer from family I 'm a - dad and have been with Bank of America for about 10 years, receiving foreign wire transfer from family abroad on a monthly basis. My dad sent money for the Holidays ( on - ) which was not received on the account after more than a week ; I reached out to BofA on - where an agent told me compliance reviewed the issue and I would get the money within a day ; called back on - after no receiving it and being told that compliance would reach out to me with questions. I called on Tuesday - where an agent promised to reach compliance to find out what questions they needed - I got a call back from the same agent who collected some information and promised the issue was no resolved. The agent also said that compliance had noted an email sent to me on -, however I could not find it in my inbox, spam folder, or deleted messages folder. On the next day ( - ) I called again and was told that the compliance department still needed information
department where an agent told me the whole process of reviewing the transfer had n't even started - and then transferred me once again back to the original department where an agent told me there was no way they could help me. I called again on Thursday, - where an agent at first told me that " compliance needed information '' but that she had no way of finding out what it was. After I told her I had provided information on Tuesday she told me that " in that case they are probably reviewing that information '' but that there was no timeframe for releasing the money. I was once again told there was no way to contact anyone directly, and that the only thing she could do was request a call be made to me ( which - other agents did before as well ). As a - dad I depend on financial support from my family in - ; because of this issue I am already late on a mortgage, and through the whole process I have not been able to talk to anyone in the department actually in charge of the problem. As of -, almost 3 weeks after the transfer was initiated, I still have not received the money and no one from B of A has contacted me ( despite promises to cLl back within 24-48 hours given on -, -, and - ).
