Checking account Problems caused by my funds being low Washington

I opened an business account with US Bank. It is a debit card, so I thought I would not be allowed to overdraw money. But it does allow overdraft, and then charge $36.00 for each purchase over $15.00. So within a week, I was charged - $36.00 penalty fees and an extra $25.00 extended overdraft fee, altogether $160.00, on - purchases totaling $160.00. They waived - penalty fees of $51.00, but still, is n't this robbery?
