PayPal Holdings, Inc. Credit card department,
Unsolicited issuance of credit card New Jersey
On -/-/2016 PayPal credit opened an account in my name without my consent. A charge of $190.00 was added to the account. It may have been opened it in an outright fraudulent manner ( as in the - scandal ). Its also possible that it was done deceptively in the on-line " check-out '' or " pay with Pay Pal '' process of an on-line purchase. i.e., it was set-up where the purchaser would have had to " opt-out '' of opening a PayPal credit account in the course of submitting a payment. In any -, I DID NOT wish to open a credit account with Pay Pal. More payments which I thought were being made using traditional " Pay Pal '' continued to charged instead with " Pay Pal Credit. '' $180.00 was made on the account on -/-/2016. Other charges were made in -/-/-, mainly several payments to -. I received no bills or notification by mail or even by email until -/-/2016 when I was suddenly notified that I had an overdue balance which had accrued interest and a service charge of $25.00. When I was finally able to contact them via phone on I was told that the service charge would be credited to my account. It was not. Under duress and fearing for my credit rating, and to avoid the time and headache of a dispute, On -/-/2016 I paid the balance and the interest charges which totaled $420.00. I was told that the account ( which I had never opened ) was closed and that there was a zero balance. However I continue to receive notices of an outstanding balance and interest charges accruing.
