I recently initiated a dispute with Equifax, at this time I have not received a final response. - aka - has placed a collection on my account with all 3 of the credit bureaus for an account that was paid in full in -. The original account was with -, and I paid - the balance of $100.00 in - - must have purchased the collection after I had paid it off. This collection has not been on my credit report. I have a report from -/-/- and -/-/-, and this account from -, is not on these reports. I also have had service with -/-/- since -, under the same social security number. If I had an open collection, - would have denied me service. This account was paid in full in -. I believe that - has performed an inquiry on my credit report, and sees that I am shopping for mortgages. I believe that this account has been posted as an attempt by them to make money on an account that has been paid for years.
