Citibank Credit card department,
I applied for the Citi - Visa - card in late - 2016 under an advertised promotion to earn - - bonus points after making $2000.00 in purchases within 3 months of account opening. After completing the required spending in two months, the points were not credited. On -, Citi responded to my inquiry via email pointing to the current language on the company 's website stating the promotion is not available to existing Citi cardholders. The exclusion language was not on the Citi 's website or card 's terms and condition when I applied for the card. I responded to customer service and offer to mail/fax/email in screenshots of the promotional offer and terms and condition captured at the time I submitted the card application. Citi still would not honor the promotion with the screenshots stating the current language on their website override all previous offers. I called customer service on -/-/16 and spoke with an associate and a manager. Both reference the same current website language and ignore the previous offer. The manager - - - - even stated that he believed me when I said the language may be missing from the website at the time the application was submitted but the 24 months exclusion have always been the rule for the more than 5 years since we work at Citi. If the exclusion language was not present when the application was submitted, I should receive the promotion offer and should not be subjected to new terms and conditions that were displayed after the account was created. Citi is reneging on the original offer with recently added terms and conditions.
