Improper use of my credit report Report improperly shared by CRC Minnesota
My credit report was used inappropriately to determine financial eligibility for a Patient Assistance Program through -, aka " - ''. I was denied use of their program based on what I was informed by them was a " Projection ''. I was also informed by them that my annual income was -. This was a shock to me as my annual income is only -. If it really was - I would n't need assistance. My income of Social Security - and a small pension has not changed significantly in the past few years. After several phone calls, I discovered that Experian was used for this " soft credit check ''. When I spoke to someone at Experian, I was told that they do not provide my income during a credit check. Apparently, this is not accurate, because I found an article online ( - -, " Is Your Doctor Checking Your Credit Report? ". The article states that Experian does provide " Income Estimation Tools ''. I have used the - program for several years to provide me with - medication that I can not afford. In previous years, - has asked for proof of income, which I
's documentation were all correct. I called - and was assured that everything looked good. The next day, I received the denial letter which stated I did not qualify for their program based on my income. I have worked hard all my life to maintain good credit. I recently found that my credit score was 850. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that this would work against me. I strongly object to the use and marketing of this " Projection '' tool for the purpose of denying me access to low income programs for which I qualify. Now I will have to do without my - medication that I can not afford. I do n't know what that means for my future but that prospect is very frightening to me.
