We annually transfer a donation thru WesternUnion to the - university in the - -. The transfer is made to a personnel acquaintance. This year when he went to pick up the money, the local agent took the transfer codes and indicated it would take some time and he should wait a few minutes. When he returned to the agent they indicated the money was not available. As the sender we received notification that the money had been transferred. We put in a complaint thru Western Union on the transaction failure. During the course of - follow up telephone calls one of the Western Union agents admitted they were seeing local agents defrauding customers. However they would do nothing other than confirmation the transfer.
