Back in - - erroneously reported late payments on a student loan that was deferred. I contacted the Bureaus directly and provided them with proof of the error and requested that they remove any negative ratings from my credit report. All bureaus complied with the exception of -. I reached out to the CFPB for assistance with getting this error corrected and the same reflected on my credit report. I have since had my credit limit decreased on my Citibank credit cards as a result of this. I have been a Citibank client for about 20 years. I had one credit card with a limit of - and another with a credit limit of -. To my dismay, my limits have been decreased to - and -. I explained to them that this was reported by - in error and it has since been rectified. They sent a pretty standard letter to respond to my rebuttal stating that my limit was decreased due to negative information reported to the Bureaus. I should NOT be penalized in any way by an ERROR that resulted in an incorrect reporting by a creditor. I have exhausted all of my resources in trying to help Citibank to understand the nature of this error. This decrease in my credit is unfair and not related to my credit history or ability to repay. I am asking that my credit limits be restored immediately. I have uploaded copies of the Citibank notice of credit limit decrease along with the original notice from - evidencing my student loan is deferred until - ( late payments were reported in - )
