Citibank Bank account or service department,
Other bank product/service Using a debit or ATM card Illinois
I opened a checking account with Citibank a couple of months ago and during that process I also enrolled in Online Banking so that I could monitor my accounts. When I enrolled in online banking I DID NOT have a debit card as I did not want - nor need -. Up until about a week ago I started having problems with the log in for online banking and all attempts to gain access to my accounts have failed. I 've tried to use the forgot password option to no avail. Citibank has refused to help me and instead has said that I will need to have a debit card in order to gain access to my online banking. However, if a debit card is so crucial for online banking then how was I able to enroll in online banking when I opened the account and monitor my accounts until recently? Citibank has refused to answer this important question and instead is demanding that I receive a debit card. I explained that I do not need a debit card. Their behavior seems very similar to the - scandal where bankers were pushing products on consumers that did not want nor need the products. I truly feel that is what 's is happening to me as I 've always had online banking until a week ago when problems started.
