Other (i.e. phone, health club, etc.) Communication tactics Threatened to take legal action Colorado
I had recieved a call from a debt collector in regards to a piece of furniture I co- SIgned on for my roommate and I at the time. We had parted ways 3 months after purchasing it and the other party kept the couch. In -, I reviewed my credit score and saw the account on the couch was closed and $- balance. Now a debt collector called, did not say what company he is working for and said if I did not pay right now I would be sent to an attorney and sued. I tried making payment arrangements but he would not work with me, He said this company has tried reaching out to me so I asked him to tell me when the last couple of times they tried and he told me " I am not wasting my time pulling up that stuff '' After that, he went silent and kept asking when I can pay and telling me " I don ; t want this sent to an attorney because I have no idea how bad it was going to get '' He would not tell me what attorney and if I paid something today we could set up payment arrangements in the future which seemed fishy. After that, I tried to calm him down and see if he would work with me but everytime I questioned something he said he would become aggressive and start asking for a payment again.
