I received a letter notice in the mail that both my checking and savings accounts were going to be closed within 10 days the only reason given : " in accordance with your deposit terms and conditions, please be advised that we have elected to close your deposit accounts with us. '' I have been a customer for over 10 years and always had accounts in good standing, never over-drafted or used money transfers or any other negative or risky activity. Several other family members and business associates have received the same notice the same day. How can they just close accounts, causing significant business and personal disruption, without reason? US bank Branch Managers were not able to provide further information, as they also could not find information. Upon calling the " Account Review Department '' I learned they had reviewed my accounts and by committee decision decided to no longer support my banking. But they would not tell me the reason, or what spending flagged a concern or if there was a financial relationship that was a problem. The reason they provided was that just as I had the right to leave the bank they also have the right to kick me out. I am very concerned that there is discrimination, or financial risk I should know about or that I am exposed to someone or some regular spending activity that is dangerous or illegal. Or they are simply abusing the consumer by not supporting the banking I do, which seems to be fairly normal household banking. All local and all accountable.
