Credit card False statements or representation attempted to collect wrong amount
Citibank Debt collection department,
Credit card False statements or representation Attempted to collect wrong amount Arizona
-/-/-, we used a check from CitiBank for a balance transfer of $14000.00 with zero interest for 17 months. We always pay off the balance before the deadline when interest starts accumulating. We put the payments on autopay to be sure they would be paid every month. When we went to pay off the balance, we found that 14.99 % interest had been charged for every month from the first month. Citibank stated that the balance transfer check was expired. First of all, there was NO statement on the check stating that if it was cashed after the date of -/-/2015 that interest would be charged. No Citibank representative ever attempted to contact us to inform us that the check had expired and that there would be interest involved with the use of the check. This is a gross misrepresentation. We have been Citibank customers for over 10 years and they will not review our case beyond saying they will credit only 2 months. We receive balance transfers all the time and there was no reason why we would choose one with interest over another one.
