Medical Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed Debt is not mine Illinois

My husband had medical debts that the collection agency had put in my name even though I was not on the medical bill. My husbands only income was social security and I was working so that is why they put his debt under my name. I do not think this was fair. My credit report is affected and I have repeatedly asked them to take my husband 's bills off of my account and they have not done so. He has since passed away and they still have his debt on my account. I need help. I do not know where to turn.
