On -/-/-, I received an alert that I have a new collection activity on my credit file. I found that it was this company ( Midwest Recovery Systems ) that supposedly purchased this account from another debt collector. I contacted them and -, the recovery specialist informed me that it came from a payday loan that was taken out in - and that he did not have the original paperwork that I asked for. I told him that I wanted to dispute this, and he told me that it would stay on my file until it was paid in full. He did say that he could make payment arrangements in order to settle the debt, but the mark on my credit will stay for seven years. I am a - veteran -, and I do not have the type of money he is seeking for a debt that I have no knowledge of.
