The complaint described herein is centered towards Citibank not advising of ATM fees at the point of transaction, and not necessarily about the fees themselves per se. Citibank uses their ATM terminals at many, if not all, - convenience stores in this area. The ATM is clearly marked as " Citibank '' and is furtherly recognizable as such by their corporate logo. Citibank also co-markets actively with the - - - - - -, of which this writer has been member of since 2009. On many occasions, I 've used my - card at the Citibank ATM terminals at various - stores. Never, not even once, did the Citibank ATM prompt a warning about fees incurred by use of an - card at their terminal, which reasonably leads one to assume that there are
I believe this a deliberate act, a deceit by omission. For example, when I tried my - and - cards, the Citibank terminal display will promptly, and quite correctly, apprise me of the imminent usage fees incurred by both Citibank and the card issuer, at which point I 've always declined. In all, I 've been relieved of approximately $50.00 ( $2.00 withdrawal and $.00 inquiry fee ) in unsuspected fees in just the last month. My investigation is ongoing back to when I joined - in 2009, which may be more or less that stated amount, but it 's entirely plausible that I 've lost approx. $ - $700.00 dollars a year for the last 7 years that I 've been a member of - , which I only discovered serendipitously while checking my account relating to another matter. If warranted, I 'd like to be remunerated for these fees entirely as well as punitive damages. Moreover, there are potentially hundreds, if not thousands, of - employees that are unaware of such fees. Citibank certainly is n't saying anything. Moreover, I would n't be surprised if the -, and even -, are complicit in this matter. It 'll be interesting to see where this investigation goes. After all, - - started out as " nothing '' ...
