I received an alert from my credit monitoring service advising of a negative item. My credit score is usually around - so i take it very seriously. Surprised, i disputed the item with the only credit bureau company reporting it, - on - advising it is not me. They responded on - advising the item would remain. I have never done business nor received bill nor have any knowledge of the original creditor showing or the collection company reporting it, Credit Management Co, - - -, - PA -, -. I called Credit Management Co on - and spoke with - at extension -, who verified the account doesnt belong to me based on my SSN and DOB. In fact she asked if i had a son born on -, but i pointed out my dob is - so that is not possible. She verified the last - of the - reporting were - and the DOB didnt match. I also pointed out the original creditor appears to be some - system that is in an area about - hours away from where i live. She said she would add a comment to the account so that they could let
extension of the person i spoke with and the last - of the SSN they verified the debt was against, which does not match mine. - re-opened the dispute on -. - said that the first time they sent the dispute to Credit Management Co, that company simply responded advising the account did belong to me. I was confident this was going to be resolved since i took the initiative to do their job for them to verify the account doesnt belong to me. Today however, -, - advised me the item would remain. How is this possible? Why is Credit Management Co damaging my otherwise PERFECT credit by reporting something that they already verified doesnt belong to me? They are not doing their job. Please help get this resolved
