I purchased a dress online from Macy's.com on -/-/- for $340.00. It did n't fit my sister so it was returned and credit was recorded on -/-/- for $320.00. When I got my statement ending -/-/- it showed that I had late fees of $27.00 and interest charges of $3.00. I called customer service on or about -/-/- to resolve the issue and the agent indicated that the late fee and interest charges would be reversed and she would waive the $20.00 discrepancy for my troubles. Had something to do with a glitch in the system for no minimum payment posting. Fast forward to -/-/- and I received a letter from Macy 's Collections Department ( dated -/-/- ) that $50.00 would be withdrawn from my bank account on -/-/2016. In fact, $33.00 was withdrawn from my bank account on -/-/2016. So, I called Macy 's again to work on the issue. Some how they had reversed the interest charges and an arbitrary portion of the late charges ( $14.00 ) and failed to reverse the $20.00 discrepancy. After speaking with many customer service agents, I believe I have gotten this issue resolved however the explanation of the $33.00 charge


somehow in less then 60 days I have gone into collections for a dress I had for less than 2 weeks. It feels like I 'm being harassed. Now, my account has been adjusted and shows a credit balance of $33.00, but the additional late fee adjustment of $13.00 has been back dated to -/-/-. So if you look at my account now, the most Macy 's should have taken from my bank account is $20.00. Luckily, I do n't carry balances on credit cards but if i did, I do n't think I would have been able to figure this out and this practice likely affects many other consumers.
