I called my mortgage company, Freedom Mortgage, to find out what the pay off was on my home because we are selling it and purchasing a new home. They told me that is would cost me $30.00 and it would be 72 hours before I would receive that information. They stated the fee would be added on to the final balance of the pay off on the loan. I feel that this fee is unacceptable and they are keeping my information hostage for a fee. There is not an early pay off penalty. This is my information and I do not feel they should be able to withhold it for a fee of any kind.
