Synchrony Financial Credit card department,
Unsolicited issuance of credit card New Jersey
To whom it may concern : On or around -/-/2016, I visited a newly built - in -, NJ. My only purchase was a white throw pillow. The cashier offered me a - - customer rewards card. I told her that I did n't need one today. She stated that I would receive an additional 10 % for signing up for one. I acquiesced and provided her with my information. I also asked her several times if this was a store customer card or a credit card. She confirmed several times that it was only a loyalty card. She handed me a form and asked me to add my SSN and sign the bottom of the form, which I did. When I finally came to my senses I realized that she had run credit. I IMMEDIATELY called for the manager of the store. She apologized profusely for the cashier making this error. The cashier DID NOT understand the difference between the loyalty card and the credit card. I asked the manager to phone customer care straight away so that I could have the inquiry removed from my report. They said that within 90 days the inquiry would be removed. On -/-/16, I received a letter stating that my application was declined because of income-THIS IS BECAUSE I DID N'T COMPLETE THE APPLICATION WITH ANY INCOME LISTED! I had no idea that I was applying for credit at all.
