Improper use of my credit report Received marketing offer after opted out California
About a month ago, I had a reason to contact the Experian Credit Reporting agency about my credit scores being grossly inaccurate. I have a perfect credit history but they lowered my score to barely acceptable. During that contact, I was asked if I would like a copy of my report for $1.00. I accepted the offer as the price was right. Now they are billing me on my email account for $21.00 as some kind of membership in something I do n't know about and sending me unsolicited emails. When I called them, they claim there was a " hidden '' acceptance of a membership of some kind that I accepted. I assume there was some kind of hidden in small print of something or other. Now they want me to pay a fee for something I never asked for. Now I 'm also asking them to return my $1.00 for whatever scam they are trying to hook me into. Since I never signed any contract, explicitly or implicitly, this is an attempt at extortion.
