Citibank Credit card department,
On -/-/2016 at - MST, a credit of $2400.00 was issued to me by -, -, AZ -, Phone number - ( - Invoice and credit card receipt attached ). The refund credit was made to Citibank VISA Signature Credit Card -. Citibank customer service, on several occasion since -, has stated that this credit card account does not exist in spite of the fact that I have the credit card in my possession with my picture on it ( copy attached ) and an email from Citibank dated - -, 2016 at - MDT that states the card is activated and ready to use effective - -, 2016 ( copy attached ). Citibank ( via their customer service number - ), has stated that there is nothing Citibank can do about this issue because the credit card account stated above does not exist at Citibank. They have also stated that any refund transaction coming in from anywhere would be rejected immediately because
I have contacted the - accounting department ( - at - ) and waited the requisite 72 hours for the transaction to be rejected by Citibank ( - stated rules ). As of - -, 2016, - states that the transaction did go through and was processed and so there is nothing - can do about my refund credit in spite of the fact they now have the returned merchandise ( and other merchandise that I never received ) in their possession. - has stated that the - - - - batch number containing the refund transition is - and that the transaction reference number is -. The batch and reference numbers were given to me verbally by -, but repeated back to her to ensure that I recorded the numbers correctly. So the problem is this : I am now out $2400.00 and neither ( 1 ) Citibank who states my account does not exist nor ( 2 ) - - - - who states the transaction, in fact, did go through to Citibank, will do anything about this issue. Can you please investigate and get either Citibank or - - - - to send me a valid refund check in the amount of $2400.00. I am trying CFPB before proceeding with other legal remedies available to me.
