Citibank Credit card department,
Hello, I was charged a late fee on my citi credit card on -/-/2016 and when I called to reverse the fee about a week and a half later ( and subsequently closed the account ), I was told by the representative that it was removed successfully. I did n't see that reflected on my account on-line so I called them again which I was told that the on-line information wo n't change since the account has been closed. To my surprise, I was charged again with another late fee on -/-/2016. After I called the company to resolve this, I was assured again it was resolved and the account will return to - balance the following day. When this did n't happen, I called them again, and this time they told me they are unable to reverse the late fee because they are " valid '' charges. I was also told there is no log of the late fee reversal was successful from their " note '' to prove what I was told before. However, I was not aware of the fact that I need to specifically request to log what the previous representative told me on the " note '' in order for subsequent agent to follow or acknowledge as such information is not provided through my previous calls, online, or through mail communication. I think my credit was hurt because of the fact that the bank provided false information on multiple occasions and push me into worse and worse financial situation via compounding fees that I would n't been in otherwise. The representatives kept telling me it was taking care of but it was never done and since each inquiry requires waiting time, the late fee is accumulating and they changed their story when it is too late. It is the bank 's responsibility to provide consistent and accurate information to its customers as they will be placed in the disadvantage position if they can not trust statement from the agents who are representing the bank.
