Conventional fixed mortgage Loan servicing, payments, escrow account California

My bank ( - - - - ) sent my mortgage payment to - previous loan servicers. A third servicer ( the correct - ) BSI Financial Services, was finally paid on time, but one of the incorrect payments was lost and never returned ( $1000.00 ). One of the incorrect payments was returned because my bank stopped payment on the check. The second incorrect payment was made through billpay and the payee claims they forwarded the funds to BSI Financial Services. BSI claims not to have received the funds. I asked my bank to investigate but they were unable or unwilling to follow through. So, I am out $1000.00 and all parties to the problem are unwilling to help me.
